Hi,

Well I just wanted to know that I got a call from this broker and I am paying around 5.9 % fixed interest rate on my mortgage and its fixed for 20 years ... now he was telling me that this is quite high. is it true. how much is a good interest rate these days. I have relatively good credit score

Mary,

There are various things to consider before going you think about Mortgage Refinance. Considering the fact that you said that some Broker called you or it might be some telemarketing person in either case they just start off by telling you that you are in deep sh*** and that they are the only people who could help you. Where as so far the intrest rate on you mortage and the term of mortage as you said was 20 years fixed is good enough. But different states different regions have different intrest rates for mortgage. But you don't have to trust any of those telemarketer cause they want you business and they will try to make you refinance your mortgage weather its whats best for you or not.
